Discover the art of lampshade making at one of my workshops in Haslemere. I hold a range of lampshade making classes throughout the year and also offer tailored bespoke group classes for special events or team building sessions.

Candle Shades

Thursday 20th November 7:30-9pm

Get a head start on your Christmas crafting before the festive period really gets busy and join me to make two unique and interchangeable candle shades.  Craft your own bespoke shades from decorative paper, perfect to adorn your festive table or mantle piece. A lovely addition if you happen to be hosting guests for Christmas!

 

Included are all necessary materials as well as:

~ a brass candle shade carrier 

~ 2 ivory dinner candles to fit
~ a surprise gift

~ refreshments and light nibbles

16 New Street, Jersey
Friday 28th November 5:30-7:30pm

Following on from the success of my Jersey workshop in May, I'll be returning to the Island in November to teach another session of candle shade making, this time at the beautifully restored Georgian house, 16 New Street in St Helier.

Join me at this wonderful venue for an evening of festive fun where you will make two unique and candle shades from your choice of decorative paper. This event is perfectly timed for Christmas decorating and your shades will be sure to add a unique flare to your festive table or mantle piece.

Hand Painted
Candle Shades
The Georgian Coppa Club, Haslemere
Wednesday 3rd,  December 7-9:30 pm

Join me for a cosy and festive evening of creativity in the private dining room of the Georgian Coppa Club. In this intimate workshop (limited to just 8 people), you’ll design and hand paint two unique candle shades, perfect for adding a personal touch to your Christmas table or gifting to someone special. All materials are provided - just bring your creativity and enjoy a relaxed evening with some like-minded locals!

Details 

~ Unless otherwise stated, the workshops take place at Niki's beautiful historic home in central Haslemere (7 min walk from the train station).

 

~ You will learn how to make your own lamp/candle shade to take home with you that day.

​

~ Refreshments and all required materials are provided.

 

~ Group size is limited to ensure everyone has plenty hands on assistance.

FAQ's

I don't have any suitable fabric, can you provide it?
No problem! I have an extensive supply of remnants to browse (may incur an additional fee).

I am not very creative, will I be able to do it?
Fear not, I will guide you through the process one step at a time and am on hand to assist with any of the trickier sections.

Can I make a different size/shape shade?
Of course - I offer different options at each workshop so check the details carefully before signing up. Once you have learnt the process you can make as many different shades as you like at home!

Don't the candle shades catch fire?!
Caution and common sense must be exercised but for peace of mind the shades are lined with a flame retardant liner. We advise only the recommended candles be used and NEVER leave candles unattended.  If you are at all concerned we have a brilliant LED alternative you can use!
